Sweet Herb Nuts
8 ounces of whole almonds, pecan halves, or cashews
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon of Rapadura
1 tablespoon of snipped fresh thyme, or one teaspoon of dried thyme,
crushed
¼ teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon of Rapadura
1 tablespoon of snipped fresh thyme, or one teaspoon of dried thyme,
crushed
¼ teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Spread nuts in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. Bake in an oven 350 F for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. In medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add rapadura; cook and stir until it melts. Remove from heat. Stir in thyme, salt, and as desired cayenne pepper. Add nuts and make sure both sides get coated. Spread coated nuts on a piece of foil; cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for one week, or in freezer up to three months.
